Easter Weekend, April 2026, was an incredibly special time for Kenny and Sarah Love as they embarked on an exciting journey to Pennsylvania, which is the heart of pretzel production in America. This trip was remarkable for several reasons. First and foremost, Sarah Love and Kenny were thrilled to spend quality time with most of Sarah Love's immediate family for the Easter holiday and to celebrate her Grandmom's 90th birthday! Additionally, Kenny was eagerly anticipating a heartfelt conversation with Sarah Love's father to ask for his blessing in marrying her... He said yes!
The days in Pennsylvania were long, cool, and humid compared to the sweltering dry heat of Phoenix, Arizona. The rolling greenery and abundance of natural water was a vast change from the drought stricken mute red tones of the Sonoran desert. We spent time helping where we could, running errands for the family and working in the kitchen. One day, during a casual breakfast conversation we had been discussing local pretzel spots in the surrounding area and a semi-close location had been mentioned. The name of the venue was unknown but it was said that it was in Amish country along Division Highway. Kenny, being quick to look it up, determined it to be Dutch Country Soft Pretzels. But, sadly, due to the packed schedule that weekend we agreed it would be best left to another visit....
….however, Sarah's second youngest brother, Aaron, had casually mentioned on Easter Sunday, "So, pretzels tomorrow?" And at that point, it had become more of a reality! Fitting in a soft pretzel tasting with the family seemed like such a wonderful idea. Next thing we knew, we were in the planning and executing stage for a Dutch Country pretzel tasting.
Dutch Country Soft Pretzels -- New Holland, PA
"Classic Pretzel"
Menu Description: N/A
$3.50
The family started off ordering the Classic Pretzel with accoutrements of blueberry jalapeño mustard ($0.85), a side of cheddar cheese ($0.75), and yellow mustard.
Our tasty treat came out from the bakery with a "beautiful amount of salt" per Sarah Love's oldest brother, Trevor, which Sarah Love agreed, the salt ratio was plentiful. It had a golden brown color which was reminiscent of wheat fields often seen in midwestern farms. The baked, salted snack, having a traditional twisted center was large in size; two orders were perfect for a group of six.
As far as taste, Kenny stated it reminded him of a ballpark pretzel being dense and a little sweet. Sarah Love's sister-in-law, Bethany, stated it had good flavor, while Grandmom rated it as chewy with a homemade taste. The cheddar cheese accompaniment was similar to a cheap nacho cheese, processed and extremely mild. While the blueberry jalapeño mustard had a solid balance of heat and blueberry flavor.

3.75/5.00
In addition to the Classic Pretzel, the family got a little wild and ordered a Pretzel Crust Stromboli. The feeling of the snack was a bit mushy, greasy, and salty to boot! The flavor was what made the rating so high though!

4.00/5.00 Overall, this pretzel bakery had a lot to offer and we didn't get to explore much at this point in time since lunch was waiting for us at home. Sarah Love and Kenny are hoping to return in the future for a deeper dive into all that this joint has to offer in the Pennsylvania Amish country. If you ever find yourself in New Holland, PA, we sincerely recommend you check out this gem.
On an exciting side note...
Not only did Sarah Love's father say yes to Kenny marrying his little girl, Sarah Love said yes, too! She accepted Kenny's proposal at Papago Park, AZ in the early morning hours of May 3rd, 2026. Kenny and Sarah Love are excited for this next chapter in life and cannot wait to spend their lives together forever.

It's official - Kenny and Sarah Love are tying the knot!

Sincerely,
Kenny Muzzey & Sarah Love
